FC Barcelona striker Lionel Messi once again won the annual prize of the Onze d'Or awarded by French magazine Onze Mondial, according to the Spanish press.
Messi won the award for the third time, thereby reaching the level of former France players Michel Platini and Zinedine Zidane.
The focus Onze Mondial has Messi in 2009 and 2011 respectively. In 2010, the magazine does not determine the winner.
Following the vote, Messi beat Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo. The Argentinian was 47.45 percent of the votes, while the Portuguese voted 27.95%. Third place went to Atletico Madrid striker and Colombian Radamel Falcao, 6.10% of the votes.
Followed by Karim Benzema (2.24%), Xavi Hernandez (1.38%) and Mesut Ozil (1.38%).
