England head coach Roy Hodgson said he regretted that midfielder Frank Lampard will miss Euro-2012 due to injury.
“Loss of Lampard is a serious blow for the England national team. Especially after we lost another key player, Gareth Barry.
Doctors could not guarantee that Frank will be able to play in the first match of the Championship, and we had to look for a replacement. I pity for him. Frank was in great shape and looking forward to the Euro”, - quoted Hodgson Sky Sports.
It should be noted that since the FIFA World Cup 2002 Lampard not missed any major international tournament involving England. Instead, the location of the national team was called up 21 year old Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson.
