While the British press handled through national football team for the defeat in the quarter-finals of the Italian national team, head coach of the English national team's 64-year-old Roy Hodgson shared his opinion about the game shown national team striker Wayne Rooney
“Rooney was charged with excessive expectations. We all waited for more from him in the quarterfinals. When he missed the first two meetings, we all believed that he is the man who will bring us the Championship. Of course, Wayne tried very hard, but their best football against the Italians failed to show. I am sure that he too is aware of. I thought it will be like Maradona for the Argentina national team, but it turned out all wrong,” – said Hodgson.
