Former England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson commented on the absence of David Beckham in the squad, which will play at this summer's Olympic Games in London.
“I have long seen Beckham in action, but I think that David should be composed of, as this is the Olympic Games, this is the United Kingdom, England, London. I would have included it in the application form and, as a minimum, would leave him on the bench. I hope that Beckham will somehow be involved in the Olympic Games. This is important. If it can't be in the football team, hopefully he will take part in the Olympics in some way,“ - said Eriksson.
