Lazio made a statement in connection with the arrest of Captain Stefano Mauri on suspicion of involvement in the contract matches.
“We respect the work of law enforcement agencies. The Club has always opposed that its leaders were involved in the events, which are now investigating police. We are ready to support the player and, sure, his innocence until proved guilty”, - said in a statement on the Club's official website.
