Josep Guardiola: “I'm not on the candidacy of Tito Vilanova for Barcelona”

Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola before the final Copa del Rey with the Athletic has summed up the results of its work and shared his opinion about his successor Tito Vilanova.
“For four years I gave 546 press conferences. It all lasted about 272 hours. It's as if to say 11 days in a row. All this time I was trying to achieve the same goal - to get credibility. Maybe I made mistakes along the way. But my goal was to always stay honest.
Appointment Of Tito? You know, in November I had lunch with Subisarretta. He asked me what I think about the prospects of Tito in the role of head coach. I said that this is a great idea. By the way, Tito learned from me about this possibility. After the match with Chelsea, I asked him to come to me in the room and asked what he thinks about this. Tito still knew nothing.
I think he is sufficiently strong to take the post. We are familiar with 13 years, much survived together. I can say that Tito I very strongly helped when I took charge of the team. But I'm not on his candidature to the Club. The guide was decided. I'm not the kind of person who gives the orders. In General, I am thankful that the Presidents of Laporta and Rossel provided me the opportunity to work in the Club of my dreams. I have an excellent relationship with them. But now I want to go away and give way”, - quoted Guardiola Club's official website.
