New Watford manager Gianfranco Zola will try to persuade World Cup winners Filippo Inzaghi and Alessandro Del Piero to join the Italian at Vicarage Road.
Both Inzaghi and Del Piero are free agents this summer and Zola’s approach has been backed by the Hornets new owners, the Pozzo family. Zola was appointed by the Pozzo family at the beginning of July and the Italian revolution shows no signs of letting up at Vicarage Road.
“I normally don’t talk about players that are not my players. But is an intriguing names.” – said Zola.
AC Milan decided not to renew Inzaghi’s contract this summer, just as they did with Andrea Pirlo last year before he went on to win the Serie A with Juventus.
Del Piero played for Juventus for 19 years, registering over 500 appearances and scoring 208 goals before deciding to leave the Italian side at the end of the season.
